Biography

John David Brown, III has been creating and putting together visual art for most of his life.  Currently he is finishing up his associates degree in Advertising and Graphic Design. As an artist, his simple storybook style creates an imaginary escape for the viewer to see the world in a positive, playful way.  It encourages you to smile at life and dream big. These themes carry through much of his design work.

Many of his paintings revolve around childhood adventures, music and stories. Storytelling is an important theme in his life.  In theatre he adapts fairytales and fables into plays as well as directs many staged plays of books and novels.  David feels that his art is like storytelling, letting each piece tell its own story.   

Originally from Mt. Olive, North Carolina, David has called Hickory, NC, home since 1996.  He is a graduate of Appalachian State University with a degree in Theatre Education with a concentration of classes in early childhood arts and English and will soon ad his Associates Degree from Catawba Valley Community College to this list. When he is not designing, you can find him at work at The Green Room Community Theatre in Newton, NC, where he is the Education Director.
